Riverside Discovery Center Trip

It's the end of my first week at Frontier!


Yesterday our brother/sister section went out to a small Zoo in Nebraska called the Riverside Discovery Center. We had a lot of fun and were just blown away by God's glory that He has shown in his creation.
How great is our God! :)

I didn't bring along my big camera, but I still managed to capture a few good pictures!

The drive into Nebraska was filled with AMAZING views!

I gotta say, my favorite part of the whole zoo was getting to talk to this guy. He was super friendly and interactive... He even sat down and posed for me!

Nathan and Evan took the back facing seats and we're goofing off almost the entire time with some of our friends in the car behind us! XD


After the zoo, we played hide and seek in Walmart (while also trying to shop!)  Funny enough Mr. and Mrs. Miles also happened to be there, completely unaware that a bunch of us students (including their daughter) were running around the store playing a game. They were actually super good-natured about it and thought the whole thing was pretty funny! 
I was also pleasantly surprised that they knew my name and recognized me right away in the middle of the store. Our freshman class has around 75 students and we've only been going to school for one week!

Afterwards we all got lunch at Jimmy Johns and went to a park and played Frisbee &Volleyball for a few hours. The volleyball court was actually a sand court, so that was a different experience for me, but it was super fun. I had sand everywhere! XD

We also took a few group pictures before heading out. 
I'll post them later, once they get sent to us! :)

    It sounds like a really nice day for everyone! And, I was trying to say on Marco Polo last night, but your internet kept slowing down....that it is wonderful for a school to have such a sense of family as to pay such close attention to first time students and how they are doing!! I know I went to their FB page and followed to learn more about the school and I made a comment that you, by name, was our granddaughter and we wanted to learn more about your school. I got an immediate response back from someone, that knew your name and that they would be taking great care of you and helping you get adjusting to the school. I felt reassured about that. Way better than a state college or university would be doing for away from home students! Love Gma and Gpa

1 1/2 Volt Ham...AKA Easter Dinner

It was the beginning of a typical Sunday morning .... or so we thought.... Everyone woke up and proceeded, quite studiously, with farm chores...milking goats, feeding chickens, checking horses etc... then we drove down to church for a wonderful Easter sermon and tasty potluck breakfast. All was well so far! We arrived home and anxiously put our Easter dinner in the oven ASAP... Cheesy scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole (special recipe of my great grandmother's---lovingly called "Grandma Betty"s Green Beans") and an expensive honey roasted ham.... Yum!  :D The next couple hours was spent lazing around or doing fun crafty stuff... Lydia glued some rhinestones to her glasses, mom braided her hair, I snuggled with my baby goats and newly hatched baby chicks... You get the picture :) I also worked tonight, but my family was so nice and waited for me to get back before eating dinner... (at 8pm I give them credit!) Update on Last Summer in Alaska!!

Time is going by REALLY fast!! There are so many things I could talk about but I don't want to write a whole book! (And you probably don't want to read a whole book for that matter... 😜) I had the opportunity to spend last summer in Alaska with InterAct Ministries. They have something called the "Engage!" program which is designed to give young people experience in missions work and give them a taste of what that looks like specifically in Alaska. Here's a quick video of our time there! I have to say, it was a very growing and stretching experience in a lot of ways! I am so thankful to have spent my summer up here. I've made friends, shared the gospel, prayed hard and often, gotten bitten by mosquitoes and other bugs more times than I could count, caught a fish, bought some beaver fur, hiked (small) mountains, bonded with my teammates and even worked as dispatch at an airport!  All of these experiences are cool in their own right, yet...
