From Forest to Highlands

It's the end of my first week at Frontier! Yesterday our brother/sister section went out to a small Zoo in Nebraska called the Riverside Discovery Center. We had a lot of fun and were just blown away by God's glory that He has shown in his creation. How great is our God! :) I didn't bring along my big camera, but I still managed to capture a few good pictures! The drive into Nebraska was filled with AMAZING views!   AMERICA! This year, Frontier's school theme is: Rooted and Grounded in Love (from the apostle Paul's writings in Ephesians 3) The focus is on our hearts; the inner man, not merely the externals like simply *doing* the right things but with the wrong motives in our hearts. Mr. Miles (Frontier's president) gave a great teaching and brought up some good questions we should all ask ourselves. I thought I'd share them with you too! All I can say is WOW! I have met so many new faces today, shared more laughs than I ever thought possible and have met so many wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ. I'm so excited for what this next year will bring! This morning Mom and I drove out to La Grange and dropped me off. She almost immediately had to leave to catch her flight, so we said goodbye. Yes, I cried. Tears of sadness, tears of joy... So many emotions! I was overwhelmed by a feeling of being led and carried by the Lord. I was scared... this was a big step of faith, but He goes before me and will make my paths straight. He was right there and I felt that peace that passes all understanding. It was surreal. What an amazing God we serve! Lunch was at 1 pm, registration was at 2. I purchased all my books and lecture notes from the bookstore and got to pick out a free t-shirt! It was a great  official last week   of living in Washington.  I blocked out as much time as I possibly could to do fun things with my buddies before I left for Wyoming. It was a great success that left me totally exhausted, yet thoroughly thankful for the body of Christ and their fellowship. Friends are such a blessing. Especially when they throw 1920's parties, play volleyball, hike, talk about deep struggles, point me to the Lord, take me out for food (like coffee, frozen yogurt or pizza!) and invite me to spontaneous sleepovers. I've had a great amount of fun with these awesome people over the last week. It doesn't feel right to leave it undocumented! - AJ and I went out for some frozen yogurt after getting coffees at the church. We brainstormed some potential "plans" and dream houses (Ya know, for when we become eccentric old ladies or aunties one day!) Days, weeks and years pass by like grains of sand in an hourglass... Each grain is shaped differently and composed of a unique mix of ingredients given by it's Creator that lend character to the whole of it's substance. So it is the same concept with every moment of our lives! Many grains of sand have fallen through the hourglass of my life since I last recorded any specific passage of time on here... Too many memories to relish, too much heartache to depress, so much saving grace and mercy that blows me away time after time!
